Anntonia in Indonesia: The Indonesian Pageant Lovers Were Wonderful! (Part 2)

Miss Supranational 2019, Anntonia Porsild, recently traveled to Indonesia where she attended the Puteri Indonesia 2020 Competition. In Part 2, she tells us about the night of the competition:

Friday was the big day for the 39 contestants as they would be walking on that stage proudly representing their provinces after weeks of hard work and years of dreaming about it. We started the morning by meeting the contestants. I had the opportunity to share with them how my journey went and, of course, wish them luck for the big night.

Zozi, Bint and I went to rehearsals to practice our parts and it was so exciting for all of us. Suddenly it started feeling very real and the excitement levels were super high. I could not wait to wear my kebaya. As you probably have seen, after saying it will not happen, I did cry when I saw it for the first time. It was so beautiful and the amount of time and effort that went into it made me very emotional as well as the honor of being the one to wear it.

After getting ready, it was time to go to the Convention Center. When I got out of the car, the response was amazing. I was truly blown away by the support and love of the Indonesian Pageant Lovers. There were so many people who wanted to say hi and take a photo – more than I expected. They were so excited and so kind and supportive. It was something very special.

We attended a press conference where each of us could speak about what it meant to be there and how we felt about our platforms. I love using my platform to share my opinions about topics I feel strongly about, so it was very enjoyable. We also visited all the sponsors’ booths.

As soon as I put on my kebaya, I felt like a queen. When it was time to step out on stage, I was supra excited. It was so much fun to walk out on that stage and also very special to do it with Jesica. I really enjoyed being able to speak to the crowd and tried my best to say a few words in Bahasa… with a little bit of help from my friends, as you probably saw.

The show was fantastic and it was very exciting to witness the crowning of Jihane, the new Miss Supranational Indonesia. After the event, I stayed on stage for a long time to soak in the atmosphere and the energy of the Pageant Lovers. It was so much fun and I probably would still be there if someone did not say it was time to go back to the hotel. What a night – thank you Indonesian Pageant Lovers!!! You made it so wonderful!
