Miss Supranational Delivers Petition to Save Itapuã Colony to Governor of Rio Grande do Sul

On Friday afternoon, the Chief of Staff of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Lieutenant Colonel Euclides Neto, representing the Governor Eduardo Leite, received Miss Supranational, Andrea Aguilera at Palácio Piratini in Porto Alegre. The mission: delivering a letter requesting the preservation of the former colony Itapuã, a space that still houses people affected by Hansen’s disease and which has invaluable historical value.

The petition, signed by Andrea on behalf of the Miss Supranational Organization and Henrique Fontes on behalf of CNB Brazil,  requested for the building to be turned into a cultural heritage building.

Miss Supranational has started her role as a Global Ambassador for the fight against Hansen’s disease with the Sasakawa Health Foundation that runs the Sasakawa Leprosy Initiative. The Miss Brazil Organization run by Henrique and Marina Fontes, organizers of CNB has been supporting this cause for the past decade.

Lieutenant Colonel Euclides recognized the importance of the cause and the request and assured that it would be delivered to the Governor, with the certainty that he would receive the suggestion with great interest.
