Valeria Vazquez Latorre Welcomed Home by First Lady

Miss Supranational 2018, Valeria Vazquez Latorre, the woman from Puerto Rico and Caribbean to win our title touched down in San Juan after spending a few days in Warsaw after her victory. Not only was she welcomed back home by her dad, mom and brother, another very important guest was waiting for her – the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Beatriz Rossello.

Reflecting on the experience, Valeria wrote the following, “It was such a wonderful experience and I feel so honored. The First Lady was extremely nice, more than I could even have imagined. Their team picked me and my family up from the airport and transported us to their official home in government cars. Once we got there, she took me on a tour through their home and it was extremely beautiful. The Governor’s home is called ‘La Fortaleza’ and it dates back to 1540 and is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.”

“The lunch menu even had my name on it. It was menu specially for me. Mrs. Rossello could totally relate what I experienced as she was once a candidate in Miss Universe Puerto Rico. She’s so beautiful and I was so touched that she was so excited about my accomplishment.”

Valeria continued by saying, “She wants to include me in some of her personal projects for the year and I am very much looking forward to lend my personal support and do good with this title. I really hope I can work closely with her this year.”

The entire experience was described by our new queen as an amazing experience, something she never imagined she would be lucky enough to have. The Miss Supranational Organization would like to extend our gratitude to the First Lady and Government of Puerto Rico for giving our and their queen such a special homecoming.
