Official Welcome for Valeria in City of Bruges

The City of Bruges (Brugge) in Belgium recently honored Miss Supranational, Valeria Vazquez, with an official welcome to the city. Mr. Marc Mosar, the City of Brugge’s Chief of Protocol, and Mr. Nico Blontrock, Alderman of Tourism, invited our queen to the City Hall where she was given a tour and briefing of the history of the Gothic Hall. Valeria is the first beauty queen to have been bestowed with this honor as it is usually only reserved for government leaders and diplomats. The construction of this impressive building started in 1376 and was completed in 1421.

Following the tour, Valeria was invited to a reception with the two city leaders. Speaking of the tour he gave Miss Supranational, Mr. Mosar said, “I was extremely impressed by this young lady’s genuine interest in the history of this historical building. It became very apparent to me that she is a highly intelligent young women. She has an excellent general knowledge and asks a lot of questions, which made the tour very enjoyable. We want to extend an invitation on behalf of the City of Brugge to welcome her back to our city anytime she has the opportunity to visit us.”

“I am extremely honored and humbled to have been invited to this official welcome. Brugge is an incredible city that has such a rich history and I understand why people fall in love with it. It was amazing to learn about the city from the leaders of the city and I hope to come back again in the future,” Valeria commented after the event.
